The guys go and work out every morning before work, they have been riding bikes then lifting weights. When I woke up Wednesday morning it was 7:20 and Thomas was not back yet, he had left his phone at home so I just waited. I started getting worried I know that Michael has to take Rochelle to work by 8 am so they wouldn't be working out later than normal. So I just knew something was wrong, but then I thought maybe Thomas & his dad are just talking or something. A little after 8 am my phone rang and it was Thomas's dads number so I answered and Thomas said that his Dad had gotten hurt and he had to take him to the ER, but that they had done some x-rays and he had some broken ribs. So Thomas came home to shower & was going to go back & take him home.
After his shower he got a call it was not just broken ribs he was much more serious he may need to be flown to Las Vegas, but instead because ofthe serverity needed surgery immediately! Thomas & Michael were able to give him a blessing before sx, what a blessing to have a husband & brother in law who honor their Priesthood and can give a blessing. He was in surgery all morning, the Gale family drove down to be with Kathy & the family. After surgery he was placed in the ICU, we went to visit him that evening. You realise how much you love & care for someone in these times, I mean you know you love them but we take so much for granted, seeing Lund in that hospital bed & him trying to keep our spirits up was soo sad, but at the same time I was so greatful. He was going to be ok.
Lund was in the hospital for almost a week, the second day he was in there was his birthday, but we got to celebrate with him the following week, and how grateful we were that night! It made me realise what an amazing example he is in our lives & how much we love him. He is doing better, but needs to take it easy. Knowing him he wont, but I'm sure everyone will try & make him!
