Halloween.........Quack quack

So this halloween we dressed Charly as a duck, it was soo cute but just a little too warm for an Arizona Baby. She didn't cry but I had to open it up on the side a few times. Alex came up with the idea to be a cereal box, I thought that was clever, and we discussed his options for what kind of cereal.....he decided that on the show "Rob & Big" they made a cereal box cover to be on the good friends cereal they were turned down so they made their own. And so we printed a picture of there cover and here's is Good Buddies......................................Thomas, Alex, and I carved pumpkins this year, and set them out in front of Kathy & Lund's house(thomas's parents house). We went over and had pizza and just hung out, helped hand out candy. Later that evening Rochelle, Michael, & Paityn came over and she was so cute a little cat!

Alex

Alex has grown up so much in the last year. He still has his teenage moments but we can see the change in him. He is soo smart, about a month ago he was sitting in the living room and was reading the Book Of Mormon, I asked him what he was doing, he responded "Umm reading." Well duh but do you have an assignment or are you teaching a lesson? He said"No I just decided I want to read the Book of Mormon, I've never read all of it through." I was amazed and so happy, sometimes you think yeah they are a good kid, but will the satan get them, life is different outside the home, and with so many influences, family friends, media against the church will he always want to be a part of the Church?

Over the last year we've such growth he used to say I'm going to the military I can't go on a mission, then it turned to "if I go on a mission....", but now it's always " when I go on a mission..." at the Charly's baby blessing my brother & sister came to church with us, I knew that Alex was excited that my brother was going to get to see him pass the Sacrament, when they were talking about the blessing Alex was explaining he has the Aaronic priesthood, and why he wasn't going to be in the circle. I know that he knows the Church is true, and that is a great feeling to know that he has the desire to serve a mission, marry in the Temple, and wants an eternal family.

We recieved a call from sis Nelson today telling us there wasn't seminary the rest of the week, and she wanted us to know Alex named all the Prophets that is soo cool, he is so smart, he pays attention, a lot of times we can't tell he is, but he is! I'm so glad he came to live with us, granted we have our moments but the end result will be worth it!

Work

So Thursday was my first day back to work, I was pretty nervous about leaving Charly, but we worked it out. She is going to stay with Kathy, Thomas's mom, 2 days a week, and the other 2 days with Rachel from the ward. My first day back wasn't too bad I'm a little rusty, but I'm starting to get back into it. I hope to start studying for my COT, Certified Ophthalmologist tech, I'm a COA now so I just have some studying to do. I hope to have my COT by the end of the year. I'm also working on my ophthalmic coding so we will see.

Charly wakes up every morning in such a great mood, it makes it harder to drop her off. Her Dad dropped her off on Friday & Monday. I think it's harder for him than me, I got to spend the day with her today, and it was sooo fun! I love her to death, she is soo darn cute. I love being a Mom, it's harder than I thought it would be, but I love it! Wow its so wierd to say "I'm a mom" I still can't believe it when I look at her, she grew in me for 9 months and she is my daughter. It's just amazing how things work, and to know that my Heavenly Father trusts me enough with one of his special children. It puts your life in persepctive. Thomas is such a great Dad, Charly is Daddy's girl, but that makes me soo happy. He is worthy of all the adoration she has and will have for him. And as a husband he still tries to help with everything except laundry...I'm working on him I hate laundry too.

Alex is soo funny, he loves playing with Charly, until she cries, last night we were trying to tell him what to do, but as soon as he got her to stop crying he gave her back. Well I work again tomorrow and we will see how I do, tomorrow is my long day away from her....so....sad.

On August 28 & 29 Thomas, Charly, & I got to go to Phoenix and visit the Russell's, the Gale's, and my sister Susie! So it was exciting for them to meet, but oh my Richie, our nephew, has gotten soo big! He was a premie born at 26 weeks, and now almost a year old, and soo big! It's exciting. We went & visited the Gale family next, they are so fun. We only visited for a few minutes, Landon had to go meet his new pre-school teacher.....exciting!
That night there was a huge thunderstorm w/lots of hail, look we took a picture.

Blessing & a name!

Last Sunday we had the opportunity to Bless Charly, what a great experience. I love that my Husband can do that, as a convert to the Church this is something I was excited for, knowing that one day after marrying a worthy man in the Temple I could have a baby & they could have a baby blessing. I know that in the future Thomas can give our children father's blessing, how amazing! This was such a special day for us!

Our friends & family were present, Thomas,Lund, Michael, Ronnie, Bishop Nelson, and Brother Angle stood in the circle & gave Charly a blessing! I love it! I am so blest to be a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The lives of our children & the future children of Alex will be so blest. How exciting!
As a side note I made Charly's dress it was difficult I have never made clothes but I wanted to try I made the small due to the weight which said 8-10 lbs, the dress was a little to big., but it looked ok!

Charly Anne Stucki

Finally the wait is over! And we are soo happy! Charly was due July 21 and so Saturday July 26 we went in at 7 am to the hospital, I was given medicine to help me go into labor. First thing that happened Saturday morning was they wanted to get the IV ready they lifted my bed to the nurse level and turned these lights that was like tanning light, well at least it felt like it. The nurse put the iv in but when switching things around had blood coming out. No biggie, I think I have seen my blood and plenty of other peoples blood at work, but I started getting really hot, and having a hard time breathing. Then I was having a hard time seeing, baby's heart rate fell and the nurse checked my blood pressure it was 30/70 she started my IV she explained she thought it was because I saw my blood but I think I just got hot, I had not eaten yet, and I was really nervous going in, I mean I was going to have a baby. Anyways............

The medication to induce me was to be given for 12 hours, at 8:30 that night we stopped the medication, the doctor came in and said that I was in a better position than I had been in the morning, but I was only dilated to a 1! He would come in Sunday morning, break my water, and Sunday night we should have a baby. I was having contractions all afternoon so the thought of having them all night until the next did not sound fun. He ordered medication to help me sleep through the night, but I wanted to wait it out for a while. Lund & Kathy, Alex, Todd & Sarah, and Michael & Rochelle had all come to visit during the day. Poor Thomas I'm sure was bored out of his mind but he didn't leave me so that comforted me. I was so frustrated after the doctor left, contractions were really strong from like 3 pm and had not stopped, because they were so strong I had to stay in bed on the monitor. So every time I needed to use the restroom Thomas had to help me un-hook the monitor. So when Kathy, Lund, & Sarah came to visit again around 10 I was exhausted, I had not slept well the night before, & could not sleep all day, and Dr did not give me the news I expected to hear.

I was so upset I started crying & Kathy & Sarah totally helped me out, they said it was normal and that everyone feels like this, and just gave me re assurance. I'm so thankful for them! So they left so I could rest, the contractions continued all night and started getting worse, so the nurses offered stadol, it helped I slept for the first hour between contractions but by the 2 hour I couldn't sleep, so I called the nurses they said that I was at the point I cold have a epidural. At first I said I was undecided if I was it, but by this point I wanted it!! So the anesthesiologist was in with a C-section so as soon as he was done he would come in to see me, what seemed like forever I called and asked how long it would be, if I had an amount of time I could focus on that they said and 30 minutes, so when they came in the set up for the epidural I said "I'm sorry but I feel like I need to push, I have felt like this for a while but it's getting worse." They said OK and checked me and they said "you're right your ready to push" She sent the other nurse to call the doctor, and gave me the bad news no epidural for me it was too late. That made me cry I thought I needed it, so Thomas called his family it was about 2:20 am, ans 2:56 pm She was here! All our family came in to see Charly, Thomas, and me. It was exciting. I was excited that Thomas was going to get to watch the nurse take Charly to the nursery & give her a bath. So he went to the nursery and I moved to out permanent room(well 2 day permanent). Around 5 am we slept and being new parents set our alarms because Charly was going to need to eat at 7 am. We got to go home Monday afternoon.

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!

The guys go and work out every morning before work, they have been riding bikes then lifting weights. When I woke up Wednesday morning it was 7:20 and Thomas was not back yet, he had left his phone at home so I just waited. I started getting worried I know that Michael has to take Rochelle to work by 8 am so they wouldn't be working out later than normal. So I just knew something was wrong, but then I thought maybe Thomas & his dad are just talking or something. A little after 8 am my phone rang and it was Thomas's dads number so I answered and Thomas said that his Dad had gotten hurt and he had to take him to the ER, but that they had done some x-rays and he had some broken ribs. So Thomas came home to shower & was going to go back & take him home.
After his shower he got a call it was not just broken ribs he was much more serious he may need to be flown to Las Vegas, but instead because ofthe serverity needed surgery immediately! Thomas & Michael were able to give him a blessing before sx, what a blessing to have a husband & brother in law who honor their Priesthood and can give a blessing. He was in surgery all morning, the Gale family drove down to be with Kathy & the family. After surgery he was placed in the ICU, we went to visit him that evening. You realise how much you love & care for someone in these times, I mean you know you love them but we take so much for granted, seeing Lund in that hospital bed & him trying to keep our spirits up was soo sad, but at the same time I was so greatful. He was going to be ok.
Lund was in the hospital for almost a week, the second day he was in there was his birthday, but we got to celebrate with him the following week, and how grateful we were that night! It made me realise what an amazing example he is in our lives & how much we love him. He is doing better, but needs to take it easy. Knowing him he wont, but I'm sure everyone will try & make him!

Still waiting!

Well July 21 came and went and still no baby!!!! But I did get to see Dark Knight-SOOO good!We went to the Dr on Monday, our due date, and no change for me, so Dr says she is in position, and has developed fine & could safely be delivered so tomorrow at 7 am we go to the hospital & check in. They are going to give me some meds so that hopefully I'll dilate and go into labor. We are excited we could have a baby tommorrow, but Dr said just because we check in tomorrow doesn't mean we will have the baby tommorrow, but when we eventually leave we will have the baby! I hope it's tommorrow, I'm excited but more than that I'm tired of this belly look at the progression over the last 9 months!

Waiting....waiting......waiting!

Oh my goodness Charly is due July 21, and the wait has been ok for me, but killer for Thomas! Dr says no change from 2 weeks ago, Thomas says he is going to have a heart attack if we have to wait until the due date. My father-in-law just knew I was going to have the baby July 4th weekend, and he is usually great at the due date game, but she hasn't come, I dont think shes's ready. And I'm not ready yet, its a little scary yet so exciting....I guess we will see. We have been going to the doctor every week, all no change since over 2 weeks ago. So until Charly is ready we only have ultrasound pictures.

Besides Thomas is still working on her dresser that he is painting, we haven't put her crib together, I'm still working on her crib set, and I want to get some more done on her blessing dress because if it doesn't work out I want time to be able to buy her one! Plus if she is not here by this weekend I want to see the Dark Knight, it may be the last movie I'll see for a little while.

Flood! Ahh

Well July 8 I was visiting a friend at the hospital & Thomas was at work, Alex calls me and says that there a leak in the irrigation pipe. So I told him to wait a minute & I would be home in a minute, Thomas was in Fort Mohave so I was going to try and fix it before he got home. I asked Alex if it was just a little leak and he said it just leaking a little, well as I drove up Alex & a group of 5-7 boys were playing basketball, and the "little leak" was shooting the wall 15 feet away. I asked him"This is a little leak?!?! are you joking?" I sent his friends home and placed my hand over the hole that even I could not stop the water. Also the irrigation cyliniod had been hit by the basketball and was also shooting water. My neighbor turned off the water. Alex maintained that the basketball hit the cylinoid & that the the hose (10ft away) just started shooting water out. Needless to say Thomas was very unhappy when he arrived home.

We went to Home Depot to try & find supplies ti fix it, we had to dig up the irrigation tubing, well actually Alex had to dig it up! Thomas glued, taped, & covered up the hole, fixed to cyliniod and went to bed late that night. Recently Thomas, Lund, & Michael have been getting up early to run, or bike & lift weights, well apparently the street was covered in water along with the front & backyard, we had not fixed the leak.

Thomas woke Alex up to redig up the whole but first took him to the backyard & said look in the backyard. Alex came back in & said I don't see anything. Thomas says you see nothing? Alex replied nothing but water. DUHH!!!! This made Thomas a little angry, but they turned the water off & went & bought more supplies. The cyliniod is now fixed, and we re did the tubing but that night the ground was wet, so we had to turn off the the watering system, so Alex has to water the plants with the hose until we permanently fix the irrigation tubing. I'll keep you informed!

4th Of July

So this 4th of July was a fun one! The gale family came down, Landon, Parker, & Alex were so excited to ride the dirt bikes, and so were the adults! Todd & Grandpa took each of the boys out for a ride, then took their wives out for a ride!

While wrapping up the bike riding Sarah & Todd took the bikes out for one last ride! Sarah came home with a little ouch! After a 2 hour trip to the ER she got 10 stitchtes, but got home in time to go see fireworks! All in all it was fun! And Sarah's still up for riding the dirt bikes, next time with a little more leg protection :-)

June 2008

So in June, Thomas went on a work trip with his Dad, and Michael to Florida. They went to a training and worked hard but on the off time they went to Ripley's believe it or not, miniature golfing, ate at a variety of restaurants such as Tu Tu Tango(a Brazilian restaurant), and went to Universal Studios(no fair huh)?!?

While they had there "continued education classes", I went with my mother-in-law, Kathy, sister-in-law, Rochelle, and Alex to Phoenix for Parker's 2nd birthday! We got to see Richie, our nephew, he was premature but has really come a long way, and is getting so big! Parker's birthday was fun all the kids we running around and then we made the long trip home in the middle of the night! We were tired but it was worth it!
